Critical Home Repair

As an extension of our mission to build homes, communities and hope, Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County provides critical home repair services to low-to-moderate income homeowners in Franklin County. The purpose is to help homeowners alleviate health and safety issues in and around their home. Eligible repairs include small roof repairs, handicap accessibility, window and door replacement, sidewalk and exterior stair repair, siding repair, electrical, plumbing and water supply and septic systems.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Property must be located in Franklin County
  • Homeowners must be current on mortgage loans, insurance and property taxes
  • The property must be owner-occupied and the primary residence for at least 3 years
  • The property must demonstrate a need for repairs
  • Household income must be below 80% of the area median income
  • Homeowner must agree to pay a percentage of the cost to Habitat for the repairs completed
  • Homeowner must complete 5 hours of “Sweat Equity” assisting with the repair (if able)
