The work of Habitat For Humanity of Franklin County is implemented with the assistance of volunteers. In partnership with the Board of Directors the committees of our affiliate help us carry out our mission.

Habitat for Humanity Committees and Responsibilities
Resource Development
- Develop RD Strategic Plan
- Annual campaigns
- Fundraising events
- Implement donor recognition
Church Relations
- Cultivates relationships and handling of faith groups (critical home repairs, volunteers, financial support)
- Create events to inform community on how they can help
Volunteer Engagement
- Recruit volunteers from Churches, community social/service organizations
- Work with other committees to plan for volunteer needs
- Organize and manage volunteers for staff support, construction, fund raising, and other events
- Maintain volunteer records
- Implement volunteer recognition
Family Selection
- Solicit applications, homeownership seminars/events
- Set criteria for selection
- Screen applicants and communicate with applicants
- Visit applicants
- Recommend applicant to Board for home ownership
Family Support
- Mortgage processing
- Oversee Homeowner Education and monitor Sweat Equity requirements
- Plan groundbreaking/dedication ceremonies
- Prepare family for closing
- Communicate with family after closing
Finance
- Develop annual and 3 year budgets
- Oversee expenses against budget
- Annual financial review/audit
- Evaluate mortgage finance options
- Store financial management review
Construction
- Oversee house design and costing
- Apply for permits and inspections
- Negotiate/procure materials
- Supervise construction
- Develop Home Maintenance book for homeowners
- Solicit bids & select contractors
Site Selection/Property Acquisition
- Investigate and acquire property (lots, foreclosures, rehabs)
- Site maintenance
- Infrastructure design (power, water, sewer, communication, etc.)
